The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Okay, so the tale of Bilbo Baggins and his trek outside the peacefulness of The Shire is more than just an adventure story. Tolkien’s The Hobbit is about development of character, the recognition of strength in the face of hardship, of the building of friendships, the realities of racism, tragic heroes, loyalty and perseverance for the sake of a goal. Peter Jackson’s films are visually appealing and the characters are well-developed, but not exact in their adherence to Tolkien’s original text. Therefore, enjoy the films, but don’t rest all your novel study trust in them. READ THE BOOK!
