This course is designed to help solidify students’ literacy skills through the six strands of Language Arts: Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, Viewing, and Representing. The aim of the course is to help students link the various forms of texts/course material to themselves and the world around us. For this reason, it is very important for students to remain up to date with current events, so I encourage all students to be an active participant in the latest news of your community and the world. “If you can read the word, you can read the world.” -Paulo Freire
The assessments for the course will be weighted 60% school work and 40% Public Examination.
